ABCHansen Africa manufactures weighbridges as part of its grain handling equipment program, using high quality electronic equipment from international suppliers, and with one of the heaviest steel weight ratings available in the market, with 46kg/m beams being used in the construction, as opposed to other bridges which may range from 31kg upwards.
By constructing our weighbridges heavier, the customer is ensured of a bridge that will stand the test of time, and the test of continuous and heavy use, with up to 400 loads per day.
The problem with lighter bridges is that over time, and with heavy use, the bridges will begin to warp and to lose their shape, resulting in uneven pressures on the electronic load cells, and in the end resulting in inacurate reading, and may result in danger to vehicles crossing the bridges.
Coverplating is a minimum of 10mm thick, to add additional strength to the structure, and to prevent deflection
Bridges are designed with their final use in mind, and typically 8 - 10 load cells are used on the full size bridges.
Weighbridges can optionally be combined with dump pits, to save on structural steel costs of the dump pit.
Lightning protection is standard on all weighbridges.
