Augers

• Screw conveyors are used when bins are not too high or the volume you want to move is not too big, and your speed is limited to 40 – 60 tons per hour.
• In a fixed installation, there is one intake, that splits into the roof augers.
• With a mobile auger installation, a single auger is used for loading and unloading into and from trucks. Mobile systems are often the cheapest option.

Advantage:

• Augers can transfer between silos. Usually the least expensive option for smaller and few silos.

Disadvantage:

• High
• RPM damages grain.
