The ABC Hansen batch horizontal blenders are suitable for blending of nearly all dry free flowing materials. In total capacities ranging from 200 liter to 3,000 and effective capacities of 150kg – 1000kg.
For the 200 and 500 liter blender are driven by direct coupled in line and angled gearboxes, while the 1500liter and 3000liter blenders are driven by a combination of an inline gearbox and chain drive to sprockets.
Horizontal and paddle blenders are especially effective when mixing high roughage content mixes.

In batch blending, all the ingredients are introduced into blender, the blending then starts, and the mix is discharged so that another batch can be made in the blender.
Batch mixers are mostly used for mixing and handling multiple ingredients or multiple product formulas, and can be set for longer mixing times, such as for difficult to mix ingredients.
Of all the types of blenders used, horizontal batch blenders are the most popular in bulk solids plants.
The blender consists of a stationary U-shaped body, with a rotating shaft – in a paddle mixer the shaft is fitted with paddle shaped blades. As the shaft rotates, the ribbons or paddles move and agitate the material to create a mixing action.
The ABC Hansen horizontal mixers have an added advantage of being contraflow blenders – with the inner material being pushed outward by the shorter paddles, while the outer material is pushed inwards to the middle of the body, thus having a continuous flow of product in the body of the mixer in opposite directions – allowing for optimal mixing, minimal power consumption and highest homogeny in the mixture.

Blender Models BL1500 & BL3000 are equipped standard with with unload augers in 165mm & 273mm respectively with speed control to either allow for bagging or for unload
