Description
Chain conveyors are a proven, reliable way to handle grain in high volume and high capacity applications, with low power consumption
Capacities range from 25-300TPH, and lengths of up to 60m per conveyor are possible.
Chain conveyors are manufactured from galvanized material, and are driven by a geared motor direct to shaft, or with a pulley configuration between the motor and gearbox.
Chain conveyor capacities can easily be controlled via variable frequency drives ( Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) 2.2-30KW ) for precise capacity control – especially when installed in for example dump pits.
Chain conveyors are also known as En-Masse conveyors, Drag Conveyors and Radler Conveyors.
The working principle of chain conveyors are that they utilise an endless chain chain (usually in the 81X type or pintle type chain, to move material through a rectangular trough, pulled forward, by either HDPE flights bolted to the chain, or by steel flights welded (or bolted) to the chain. The chain runs through two sprockets – one on each end of the conveyor – with the front (or pulling) sprocket being the driven sprocket – while the lagging sprocket is used to tension the chain and eliminate chain slack.
Chain conveyors can be fitted with a variety of monitoring sensors – including chain break sensors, sprocket shaft rotation sensors, overflow or plugging sensors in the heads of the conveyors to prevent overloading.
Basic capacities and specifications:
Capacity Width Height KW/M
25TPH 200mm 240mm 0.05
50TPH 260mm 240mm 0.08
100TPH 260mm 320mm 0.15
150TPH 320mm 380mm 0.23
200TPH 360mm 430mm 0.30
250TPH 400mm 460mm 0.38
300TPH 530mm 580mm 0.46
Angle pieces of up to 5º can be installed for low incline conveyors – for a maximum of 20% of the conveyor length.
