Description
The ABC Hansen Egret is a grain pre-cleaner, with a capacity of between 25 and 40 tons per hour – and is used for the pre-cleaning of grain – normally before long term storage after harvest, or before marketing of product to ensure a high quality and highly graded product is delivered.
The Egret cleaner is a rotary type cleaner, with an inner large mesh screen, and an outer small mesh screen.
Grain in conveyed via the (included) Ø219mm auger, to the cleaners inlet chute, which discharges the grain onto the inner, large mesh screen, where large particles are removed, such as leaves, stalks and cobs. The remaining product is then discharged to the outer small mesh screen, where the smaller particles are removed, such as sand, stones, dust, broken and shriveled kernels.
Oversized and undersized particles are unified in the belly of the cleaner, and discharged to the side.
The good product flows over the outer screen, and is then discharged at the back of the cleaner, where it may be optionally aspirated as well, before being bagged/following the rest of the process flow.
All the trash is discharged to the belly of the cleaner, where it is collected by a collecting, which brings all the trash to the side of the cleaner, where it is again collected by an auger, which then discharges the trash to the side of the cleaner, at a height of 850mm.
The capacity and efficiency of the cleaner is controlled by two variables- being the speed of the rotation of the drum, and the incline of the drum.
Higher inclines, and higher drum speed – will result in higher capacities, but lower efficiency and poorer cleaning, while lower drum speed, and lower incline will result in lower capacity and higher cleaning efficiency.
The speed of the drum is controlled by a variable speed/frequency drive included in the control panel of the machine, while the angle of the drum is set by adjusting the height of the front legs of the cleaner using adjustment bolts for precise and easy angle adjustments. Different products and different qualities of material will require different adjustments on speed and angle to achieve desired results.
The Egret cleaner is available in stationary models with aspiration – and on mobile units withouth aspiration.
Aspiration is fitted at the discharge of the trailer – for two functions – firstly to create a negative air pressure inside the cleaner, thus reducing dust emmissions from the machine while cleaning – as well as pulling air through the cleaned grain, to aspirate the grain, and remove remnant light particles from the grain before discharging. For the aspiration a 7.5KW high pressure fan is included, as well as a cyclone to collect the light particles, and an 8 bank dust filter – to clean the air after the cyclone. Aspiration is only available with the stationary unit.
The cleaner is fitted with durable galvanized woven mesh screens, for long life and precise hole sizes. The cleaner can be used for maize, soy beans, wheat, millet, mahangu, beans, barley, canola and most free flowing products.

Please note: The mobile unit – is fitted with 2 x steel rims and tyres- but without suspension. The mobile unit is not road legal and is for on site mobility only.
Capacities of equipment is based on grain with a normal density density, maximum 14% moisture and maximum 4% impurities removal. Capacities can vary depending on the size of the screens, impurity content and type and type of product. All capacities on equipment is based on free flowing product with angles of repose not more than 30º
