Description
The 8T logsplitter, is a semi-commercial hydraulic log splitter, with a downforce of 8 metric tons.
Logs to a maximum diameter of 350mm can be split using the 8T log splitter (but this is dependant on wood type, and how dry the wood is. Certain hardwoods, and dry blue-gum stumps may have lower diameter capacities)
The logsplitter, runs off of a high torque 2.2KW-220V single phase electric motor, which can be used on normal household electricity, making it ideal for both residential users, smallholding users and commercial firewood processors.
With a double handle pushdown, ensuring that both your hands are clear of the log you’re splitting, splitting is done in a safe and controlled manner, with the downward speed of the from top to bottom of 15seconds.
The splitter is mounted on 2 x 200mmØ solid rubber wheel for easy movement of the machine between areas.
The return height of the blade is also adjustable, to minimise the empty travel of the splitter, which is especially useful when splitting simillar length logs – so that as little time as possible is wasted between splits.
When splitting longer logs, the table is also adjustable – allowing you to split logs up to 55cm in length.
Hydraulic logsplitters have the following advantages over manual log splitting
1. Safety – hydraulic log splitters are much safer than axe splitting, due to the low speed of the blade movement and the requirement for two hands on the control arms
2. Capacity – the back breaking labour required to split logs with axes, compared to the hydraulic log splitter, ensures that production keeps on running the entire day, wihout the frequent rest breaks that are required with axe splitting
