The introduction of side tipping trucks into the material handling and transport system of bulk materials – has created some challenges regarding the receiving of the material from these trucks. The cost of construction of large 9m long concrete dump pits underground is very high – and not suitable in some areas, where ground water levels create problems with deep dump pits.
As a cost effective way to receive bulk materials from side tipper type trucks – ABC Hansen Africa offers an above ground receiving pit – with a length of 8.8m – which is able to receive bulk products from most side tipper and side discharge trucks, The inlet height on the dumping side is 1.2m – which allows for side tippers to fully discharge into the receiving bin – and the rear cover has a height of 2.1m – preventing the material being discharged from spilling over the back of the bin as it is discharged from the truck.
The bin is discharged with a 273mm hoizontal auger that runs through the entire bottom area of the receiving bin – giving a discharge capacity of up to 100TPH – and that can be adjusted to the following handling equipment with VFD
The discharge can be factory mounted on either side of the bin – allowing flexibility in design of the receiving area.
This type of receiving bin is able to handle back tipper, side tipper trucks up to 9m length and dropside bulk trailers – but it is not suitable for bottom dumping trailers.
The unloading auger is designed to discharge to the next conveyor – which will then transfer the grain into the handling/processing/storage process.
This reception bin is suitable for receiving grain, feed, oil cakes, feed components, chemicals and other free flowing granular products – due to the standard 60º hopper angle on the receiving side – allowing even poorly flowing materials to be received. In the case of very poorly flowing products, it is possible to mount vibration motors to the side plates – due to the robust design that is able to handle the vibrations.
The reception bin is finished as standard with a painted covering, and stands on 32 support legs to distribute the load of the bin evenly over a wide area. No special civil works are required – and the bin can be moutned on an even reinforced concrete slab with dimensions 10m x .2m x 150mm
