For contractors and users on the go – we offer the Grizzly 160 in mobile configuration.
Mounted on a road legal trailers – legal for speeds up to 120km/hr – this chipper can be hooked onto most bakkies, and taken to site to work.
The chipper trailer is mounted on 2 x 165R13 tyres – with a 1,000kg suspension system and a standard ball tow coupler
The basis of the machine is the reliable Grizzly 160 chipper, including an Intelligent no stress infeed control system, which prevents the chipper from overfeeding by measuring the rotor speed in real-time, and feeding it back to the controller, which then stops the infeed of raw material into the chipper before rotor speeds gets down to levels that will cause excessive strain on the motor and gearbox.
The infeed roller speed is also adjustable, for precise setting of your intake, to ensure maximum capacity, with minimum downtime and stoppage due to overfeeding.
The Grizzly 160 is able to chip logs up to 160mm in diameter – and with the single teethed hydraulic infeed roller, it is able to easily feed in bushes and wide splitting branches – the infeed rollers just crush the branches into the infeed chamber, and they get chipped. The infeed has forward, reverse and emergency stop – as per EU standards.
The infeed hopper has a maximum width of 1240mm – and a throat size into the chipping blades of 300x165mm.
This is a disc type chipper, which has the advantage of lower power consumption, lower motor wear – due to the inertia of the large diameter disc – similar to a flywheel on a diesel engine.
The Grizzly 160 performs its work with 2 x high carbon reversable cutting blades, onto an adjustable high carbon reversible anvil, to ensure a clean cut and long blade lifespan, even on hardwoods.
The model offered here is offered with aV-Twin 2 cyclinder air cooler petrol engine with 35HP output – running the chipper rotor at a speed of around 750-900RPM for extended periods.
The unit comes with a 24liter fuel tank with level display and a 25liter hydraulic tank – to ensure enough hydraulic flow and recirculation to prevent hydraulic overheating.
