Description

As an introductory offering on our range of Super Maize mills – ABC Hansen offers a 5000kg/hr maize milling system – able to produce true – degerminated maize meal – combining this output with the possibility of producing a sellable, high quality samp – using the included polisher.

The maize is cleaned using an eccentric grain cleaner – and is then sent to the polisher – where the bran and the germ meal is removed using the polisher – and a pure clean samp is produced. The polisher is able to produce  this clean samp without the need for dampening and conditioning – as it works on abrasion rather than impact detaching.

The samp is then sent to the rollermill, where it is milled through two sets of 250mmx500mm rollers – giving a total milling area of 1.57m² – and after miling – the meal is sifted on the integrated eccentric sifter of the mill – grading into three grades – being:
a. The remnant bran running over the screen – which – when combined with the bran and germ meal coming from the polisher – is sold as hominy chop – for animal feed
b. Undersized maize meal – which can be sold as B grade maize meal
c. Super maize meal.

Expected yields from this system would be in the region of 65% super maize meal, 10% B grade maize meal, and 25% hominy chop – depending on the specifications of the local market – and on maize quality.

The plant designed to be able to be installed in most warehouse and factory buildings, without special adjustments necessary to the floors or roof structures – to reduce the entry cost of owning a highly efficient maize milling plant.

The footprint of the mill is 15m(L) x 3.5m(W) x 3m(H)

The plant includes a receiving bin – for receiving of grain from either 50kg or 1 ton bags, as well as a packaging silo – where final product can be bagged off.

Optionally for bagging – a platform scale can be used and a handheld bag stitcher can be included

Another option is to add a dosing unit to the system, for adding vitamins and minerals to the meal before packaging – when fortification of the meal and flour is required (Dosing unit | ABC Hansen Africa)

Included in the cost of the plant is a motor control centre – with automatic start/stop, sequence starting and variable speed drive controls
