Description
ABC Hansen pellet coolers ensure the optimum cooling of pelleted and extruded products based on the customer applications and preferences. The coolers prepare the pellets for storage, by cooling them rapidly, and preventing sweating of pellets in packaging, resulting in broken and crumbled pellets.
Counterflow coolers cools the pellets, by using the principles of both evaporative and convective cooling. Convective cooling occurs when water is tranferred from the pellets to the air when it passes over the pellets which both dries and cools the pellets.
Counterflow pellet coolers are the method with the best efficiency for cooling of pellets.
The reason whyt it is called a counterflow cooler, is because the air flow rises from the bottom to the top of the cooler, while the pellets move from the top to the bottom of the cooler – thus a counter flow of air and product, allowing for more air to pass more consistently over more of the pellets.
The ABC Hansen pellet cooler has a slide type discharge, with a perforated bottom, and a rotary valve inlet – to prevent air being sucked in through the inlet.
The cooler is fitted with a high level switch, to control the discharge of the cooler, ensuring that the cooler only starts discharging once the product has reached the top, ensuring that there is sufficient cooling time for the pellets in the cooler.
Once the pellets have been cooled and discharged, they fall onto an eccentric screen, where broken pellets, crumbs and fines are separated from the whole pellets – for reworking – so that only the high quality pellets are allowed for further processing/packaging.
Included in price is fan, ducting, cyclone, cooler and dust control
