As a cost effective way to receive bulk materials from trucks – ABC Hansen has designed a triangular reception bin, which can be mounted above ground, or in a pit, with a width of 3m, and (when mounted above ground) of 1.2m.
This allows dropside bulk trailers, and back tipping trailers to offload into the reception bin, which then discharges from a gate controlled chute at the bottom of the triangular bin – into a auger or a bucket elevator, for further storage or processing. Typical dropside trailers have sides that drop of 1.2 to 2.2m long, and the discharge height is usually between 1.25m and 1.4m high – allowing the dropsides to open without restriction onto the reception bin, and discharging the grain to the waiting conveyor.
The reception bin can also be used for receiving raw materials in feed, oil or grain milling plants from bags and from ton bags – as it is wide enough to receive the raw material without spilling in the plant – and the 1.2m height is at a manageable and comfortable level for 50kg bags to be discharged.
The reception bin is finished as standard with a painted covering, and stands on 4 support legs.
We suggest that the reception bin be placed on a 25MPS concrete slab – minimum thickness of 150mm – 3.1m x 3.1m]
