Description
The rotary sifter is used for separating and grading milled and raw products, based on their particle size.
The rotary sifter has a cylindrical frame around which two different sizes special nylon or special stainless steel screens are fitted with brush agitators inside the screen housing. Typically the screen housing will have 2 sizes of screens, to allow for 3 separations on the product being fed over the 800mm long sifting barrel. Two of the three grades are discharged directly below the machine and the third to the far side of the machine from where it is either bagged off, or transported with a conveyance system.
The rotary sifter is a versatile and simple sifter allowing for fast screen changes, takes up small space and is highly efficient especially for artisanal milling plants.
Rotating aluminium paddles convey the material accross the screen area, agitating the material at the same time over the screen material, ensuring efficient screening and preventing clogging of the screens.
The sifter has an integrated screw conveyor infeed in the hopper of the sifter – that ensures a steady. regulated feed into the sifter, preventing over feeding and ensuring that the material runs evenly over the screen area.
The cleaner should be fed at a constant rate, to ensure good sifting results, as well as preventing overfeeding, which may damage the screens.
As optional – customers may request stainless steel screens instead of nylon screens – usually suitable for abrasive materials – but stainless steel screens are not always available in all sizes.
The sifter has is belt driven, with a 4KW 3 phase electric motor.
Capacities from 400kg/hr up to 750kg/hr.
