Silage Cracker Bagger

Description

The Nogueira Silonog Cracker – has been specifically designed for the silage of wet maize.

The cracker system has two high strength steel rollers, that cracks and breaks the grain before storage. – for the production of high energy silage.

The Silonog Cracker is fed directly from the grain cart, and the wet grain then runs through the rollers, where it is cracked – for quicker fermentation – and after cracking the machine fills a 6′ (1.8m) diameter bag with the cracked grain – much lik conventional silo bagging.

By harvesting wet feed maize at 25 – 35% moisture and cracking it with the Silonog Cracker and compacting and storing it in silage bags for a high energy, highly digestible and cost effective feed source while the grain can be harvested earlier and the remains are still palatable to cattle, is an attractive option. The wet, cracked grain can also be stored very effectively in silage bags for use after 3-4 weeks of fermentation.

The following benefits are in addition to the above:

• Starch availability: The cracked wet grain makes the starch available to rumen microbes which significantly increases digestibility compared to dry or whole grain and therefore maximizes nutrient absorption.
• The fermentation process further increases digestibility for a high-energy, lower acidic feed that compliments the digestibility of silage and hay.
• Properly cracked grain prevents whole grain from passing through the digestive process without being absorbed, which prevents significant waste.
• Grain does not need to be dried if it is important to harvest earlier and prevent losses due to high moisture, poor climatic conditions and insects.
• The high moisture content of the grain causes better compaction – therefore less storage space and removes oxygen for better fermentation.
• Grain that is underperforming and will yield a poor harvest can be harvested earlier to prevent further deterioration and therefore prevent still further losses.

It is recommended that a high quality bag is used for the silage, so that the silage is preserved in an oxygen starved environment, ensuring that you get the best silage with the highest digestibility and nutritional benefit for your livestock.

The drive system is a simple and effective PTO driven configuration, ensuring constant flow, speed and compaction during bagging.

The bagger is also fitted with a brake system, which is reliable and accurate – once again crucial for good compaction and uniform filling in the silage bag.

The machine is fitted with a inoculant tank with a sprayer for quicker and effective innoculant distribution whilst cracking and bagging.
