Volumetric fillers are easy to use, cheap to maintain and accurate. The machine uses the volume of the product, instead of the mass or the flow rate, to dispense equal amounts of product continuously.
The working principle is quite simple – if you were to fill a container with a product, and get that mass – the mass of the product in the cup will stay the same – as long as you keep filling it with the same type of product – hence the actual weighing of the product in the cup each time becomes unnecessary.
The ABC Hansen volumetric filler is equipped with 5 x volume cups, which are filled from a product bin atop the filler.
The material is discharged into the rotating cup by gravity, and the product is discharged into the bag or container.
The volume of the cup is controlled by placing spacers into the cup – enabling the operator to fine tune the effective volume in the cup accurately even when packing different products with changing densities. By using the spacers, the volume of the cup can be adjusted from 600ml up to 3 liters – making effective packing of between 500gr and 2.5kg.
