Compact and mobile – two words that you don’t usually mix with maize milling plants – but as the pioneer in this set up – ABC Hansen has developed a full degerminated maize milling system – with 30 tons of grain storage into a single, compact system – fitted into two standard 40′ shipping containers – eliminating the need for an expensive milling building and for easy shipment any where in the world, and easy placement on site – with minimal setup, of course the mills can then easily be moved again to a new location – if required. The mill can also be installed virtually anywhere – without special civil works – and can be run from a generator set.
The ABC Hansen Containerised maize mill is ideal for small start up millers, to minimise initial investment, or for militaries and aid agencies – who need to feed large amounts of people, for limited time periods, in remote areas – where there may be grain available, but not milling facilities.
Additional containers can be added to the system, for raw material and final product storage, as well as for offices, ablutions and more.
When shipping the Container Mill by sea – there will be some additional set up required initially at the destination – on the structural work on the container – to comply with shipping line requirements on standardised containers, and structural integrity of the containers.
The container mill is an entire degerminated maize milling line – fitted compactly – with minimal space wasted – and comprises of the following functions:
– A 40T storage compartment, spread over the two containers levels for storage of maize, with an auger intake system, auger unload system – to discharge to the milling compartment, with capabilities to aerate and fumigate the grain in the storage compartment
– A cleaning line, for cleaning maize before processing (Cleaner eccentric – Quaill I. 0.5-1.5T | ABC Hansen Africa)
– Dampening and conditoining of the maize (Dampener and controller | ABC Hansen Africa)
– Degermination of the maize with the DG15 maize degerminator – for removal of bran and germ meal (Degerminator | ABC Hansen Africa)
– Hurricance Quad stand roller mill for milling of degerminated maize (Roller mills | ABC Hansen Africa)
– Rotary sifter for grading meal to different grades, or as a control sifter (Rotary sifter | ABC Hansen Africa)
– Motor control centre with cabling – pre-installed – with a quick couple main incoming power connection (85KVA minimum power source required)
All offal product (screenings and bran) are discharge centrally from a cyclone, that exits the container on the side for collection.
