ABC Hansen manufactures a full peanut butter production line – as standard with a 150kg/hr capacity, based on our existing technology on the roasting, milling and deskinning equipment.
The plant starts off with a 165mm auger, feeding shelled peanuts into a gas roaster (with capacity of up to 150kg/batch).
The peanuts are then roasted to the desired temperature, after which they are discharged from the roaster, and fed with an auger into a FIFO curing bin.
In the curing bin, the peanuts are left for at least 2-3 hours, to enable the heat from the roasting to reach the centres of the peanuts, and for the peanuts to develop the correct light brown colour, as well as the characteristic roaster flavour. This also allows time for the red skins on the peanuts to completely dehydrate, and become brittle.
After the curing of the peanuts, they are transferred to a peanut deskinner – based off of our Turbosifter, which is also fitted with an aspirator, where the red skins are rubbed off of the peanuts, using bristled brushes in the sifter, and the remaining skins are sucked off with the aspirator, and discharged from a dust controlled cyclone.
The deskinned peanuts are then discharged from the deskinner to an auger. At this same discharge point, a dosing unit is also installed, where a steady dosage of salt, sugar and powedered emulsifier are addede to the peanuts, as they are transferred to the Universal Mill with plate attachment.
The peanuts are then ground to peanut butter in the Universal Mill with plate attachment, and smooth peanut butter is discharged from the mill at a steady and consistant rate.
As optional, a mixing tank can be added after the milling, if additional fluid additives want to be added, or a packing pump can also be included – request these options when enquiring about the milling line.
